Shankar makes Amy groove along with venomous snakes

Amy Jackson is sure to make a big splash once Shankar’s I releases. We hear she has dazzled her unit with her guts in one sequence where she was required to dance with venomous snakes all around her. This song would have a Chinese style and Amy’s uninhibited dance moves are sure to be spoken about when the movie releases.

Vikram and Amy pair-up for this typical Shankar extravaganza which is being canned briskly. Aascar Films are funding this multi-crore marvel.

Has Indian cricket moved forward?

While all, players and pundits alike, applaud the Indian team, there are some like Sourav Ganguly who, though thrilled by the results, feel the Indian team must start winning abroad. That is the true test of strength, that is one mountain still to be climbed.

Cherish the moment, celebrate the occasion: it is 4-0 against Australia, not Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. India does not win this big often, nor is Australia used to getting thrashed so soundly.

Given this context, it is fitting that captain Dhoni feels like a Super King, the undisputed Don of cricket. Time for him to bask in the glory of victory and acknowledge the cheers of his devoted subjects with a typically casual wave of hand.

#Has Indian cricket moved forward, taken the leap into a higher league ?

#Do we now have the talent and the resources to extend this surge abroad?

And, the fundamental sawaal: can we win in Australia, England and South Africa?

There is no denying 4/0 is great for creating momentum and boosting the self confidence of the team. In cricket, defeat is a habit (which we embraced last season while losing 8 tests overseas, and then, shockingly, even at home) and so is winning. Hopefully, India will now travel better and not be pushed onto the back foot in foreign conditions.

Whether we have unearthed a bunch of young super kids to drive India forward is not entirely clear. Surely, Pujara is a priceless find, he has the desire and the tools to score on unfriendly pitches and against hostile bowling. Vijay was impressive but got out fending off Siddle - was that a case of a nasty ball undoing him, or a weakness against pace being exposed? Shikhar batted like Bradman on debut but to expect him to repeat his feat is hoping Jadeja scores a triple hundred at Kingsmead.

Equally unlikely that Ashwin and Jadeja will bag 53 wickets between them next time round. Spin is king on manufactured turners but when playing overseas, Ishant and whoever else is fit among fast bowlers will have to get the opposition out twice.

So, net-net, it is terrific to win in such grand style, soak in the moment but don't forget to thank the helpful conditions which produced this wonderful result.
